The 17" iMac with 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU is a powerful and compact computer designed to meet the needs of video editors, graphic designers, families, educators and businesspeople. The computer is built around a 17" widescreen LCD display designed by Apple delivering an elegant all-in-one solution that saves space by combining the monitor and computer into one component.
Apple has partnered with Intel to update the popular iMac computer which is now powered by the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor. The Core 2 Duo is actually two processors built into a single chip which translates into much better performance than a single processor chip. The computer is loaded with a 160 GB Serial ATA hard drive, 1 GB of RAM, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, Airport Extreme, built-in speakers and Apple's SuperDrive, an 8x speed DVD and CD burner that support Dual-Layered DVD discs.
All this hardware runs on Apple's OS X 10.4 Tiger operating system with Rosetta technology. This allows you to seamlessly run legacy applications as well as Universal Binaries that have been designed to run on both PowerPC and Intel chips, making the iMac a great choice for your home or office.
